Fly rod, including factory tube and sock. It has received light to moderate use. The rod, tube and sock are all factory made. The Ferrules are tight and show light to moderate use. The rod blank has minor scuffing, though there are no scratches that have penetrated the surface varish. There is what appears to be truly minor corrosion under the varnish on a couple of guides, though the structural integrity is not compromised in any fashion. The cork and rod seat are in excellent condition.

Given that rod is used, it is overall in good to very good condition. Other than one minor scuff, the rod tube has no dents or obvious deep scratches. I take very good care of my rods, inc.

This is a fine rod built for tough conditions and while marketed for saltwater, it works just as well in freshwater locations, such as for most AK salmon and for throwing mouse patterns at big AK rainbows and Dollies. This is a fast action rod, but it has a soft tip that makes it easy to cast and loads easily for short distance casting as well as having more than enough power to cast the entire line under windy conditions on the flats or in the mangroves or for lake fishing. Many saltwater guides and knowledgeable fly fishermen believe that the Xi3 is superior to the newer to the Sage X and Sage Salt. Check out the online comments and reviews. I would rate the condition of the rod to be 8.8 9.0 on a 10.0 scale.
